CABINETRY ENGINEER
JG Custom Cabinetry & Design
Neenah, Wisconsin | Full-Time | In-Person
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
JG Custom Cabinetry & Design is seeking an experienced Cabinetry Engineer to join our growing team in Neenah, Wisconsin.
For more than 22 years, JG Custom Cabinetry & Design has served homeowners, builders, remodelers, and industry partners with cabinetry solutions throughout Northeast Wisconsin. As our company continues to grow, we are investing in experienced professionals, stronger systems, and the operational structure necessary to support that growth.
This position is an important part of that investment.
We are looking for an experienced cabinetry professional who understands not only engineering software, but cabinet construction, manufacturing, materials, hardware, and how a project moves from design to production and ultimately installation.
The right candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where accuracy, communication, personal responsibility, and follow-through matter.
This is an opportunity for an experienced cabinetry engineer to join an established company, work alongside an experienced team, and contribute to the continued improvement of our engineering and manufacturing processes.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As a Cabinetry Engineer, you will take approved cabinetry designs and help transform them into accurate, buildable, production-ready projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Engineer custom cabinetry projects for manufacturing and installation.
- Review and interpret architectural plans, field measurements, design drawings, specifications, and project information.
- Translate design intent into accurate construction and production information.
- Develop cabinetry plans with careful consideration for construction methods, material utilization, hardware, manufacturing efficiency, and installation.
- Create and maintain detailed 2D and 3D cabinetry drawings.
- Generate cut lists, shop drawings, production documentation, and other manufacturing information as required.
- Create and review job-specific CNC and production-machine information as applicable.
- Identify potential engineering, construction, or installation issues before they reach production or the field.
- Collaborate closely with designers, production personnel, project finalization, field operations, and other team members.
- Help maintain and develop cabinetry libraries, standards, and engineering information within our software systems.
- Manage multiple active projects while maintaining accuracy and meeting required timelines.
- Participate in continuous improvement of engineering standards, processes, libraries, and workflow.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and follow them through the engineering process with strong attention to detail.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
This is an experienced-level position. A minimum of five years of relevant cabinetry engineering experience is required.
A strong candidate will have:
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience engineering cabinetry or closely related millwork.
- Strong working knowledge of cabinet construction and manufacturing.
- Experience using professional cabinetry engineering, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing software.
- The ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, construction plans, measurements, and specifications.
- A practical understanding of how engineering decisions affect manufacturing and field installation.
- Strong computer and technical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- The ability to organize and process a significant amount of project information efficiently.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think through unusual cabinetry and construction conditions.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Demonstrated reliability, consistency, accountability, and follow-through.
- A strong commitment to honesty and integrity.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who thinks like a cabinetry engineer — someone who can look beyond what is shown on a drawing, understand how something will actually be constructed, and anticipate what production and installation will need for the project to be successful.
SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE:
JG Custom Cabinetry & Design currently utilizes Mozaik as part of our cabinetry engineering and manufacturing process.
Significant Mozaik experience would be a major advantage; however, it is not required for an otherwise highly qualified candidate.
We are interested in experienced cabinetry engineers who have demonstrated proficiency with Mozaik or comparable professional cabinetry engineering/manufacturing platforms and have the technical ability to transition successfully into our systems.
Experience with Mozaik, 2020/20-20, Microvellum, Cabinet Vision, or similar cabinetry engineering/manufacturing software is valuable.
CNC programming and machine-interface experience is also highly desirable.
THE KIND OF PERSON WHO WILL THRIVE HERE:
We believe technical ability matters, but so does how we work together.
You are likely to fit well with our team if you:
- Take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Enjoy solving technical and construction problems.
- Communicate openly and respectfully.
- Take responsibility for your work and follow through on commitments.
- Are comfortable asking questions when something doesn’t make sense.
- Can work independently while also functioning as part of a team.
- Appreciate structure while also looking for opportunities to make processes better.
- Remain organized and productive when the pace is high.
- Value honesty, integrity, consistency, and mutual respect.
- Want to contribute to a company that is continuing to grow and improve.

- A respectful and collaborative working environment.
